The Future
Child Find Nova Scotia recognizes that in order to meet the demand for our services it is
necessary to explore additional avenues and funding sources to support our programs.
Child Find takes these responsibilities very seriously and is always looking for ways to
improve programs and to expand them to meet the needs of everyone. At the same time, we are
faced with the challenge of solidly supporting the programs already in place before
developing new initiatives. Recently Child Find Nova Scotia initiated the Amber Alert in
Nova Scotia program.
The goals for expanding Child Find Programs include exploring an "All About Me Baby ID"
program located in hospitals and developing a working group to discuss Troubled Teens. As
nearly 50% of missing children are runaways, it is a very real problem that needs to be
addressed if we are going to keep children safe.
Child Find receives the majority of funding from private donations. We are actively
developing sources of funding. We are in the process of developing a corporate sponsor
program and given time this will provide the majority of funding needed to run the Child
Find office and its programs. As in other Child Find offices across Canada, we look forward
to establishing a solid funding base for our operation but realize that this will take some
time to have in place.
Many thanks are given to all the supporters and sponsors who make our efforts possible and
who like us believe that all children have a right to be safe. |
