  • Be properly interviewed, selected and provided with a job description
  • A position that is worthwhile and challenging, that will promote learning and growth
  • Information on the organization's structures, insurance and funding
  • Expect his/her tasks to be planned
  • Orientation, initial and on-going training
  • Receive support from a designated supervisor
  • Be treated as a non-paid staff member and given appropriate recognition
  • Be kept informed on what is happening in the organization
  • Be trusted with necessary confidential information
